This month, I’ve spent more time thinking and praying about God’s call on my life than I have in a long time. I’ve been feeling like I don’t really know what to do right now, but I know I need to do more.
Here’s what I came up with as God’s call on my life:
- Love Him
- Worship/commune with Him
- Obey his commands
- Crucify the flesh
- Love and serve people
- Spread God’s love, grace, and joy
- Promote God’s ways even when they seem weak, outdated, too hard, and illogical… even when I can’t measure up to them.
- Encourage the growth of these things in others
- Don’t give up
I’ve been weak in every way. It struck me that I need to focus on the first two to do what I was created for and to let God guide and energize me in the others. For some reason, I find it easier to focus on the last three. When we think of God’s call on our life, we tend to think of the outward things when the inward things are what God wants more than anything.
